  • Tungsten Carbide

Tungsten Carbide balls have a unique combination of properties: high compression strength, excellent wear resistance, and the ability to withstand shock and impact. Typical applications include bearings, ball screws, valves, pen balls, ballizing, and flow meters. They are also used for coining and as pivots, swaging, detents, and tips for gauges and tracers. They are very popular for inspection tools, comparative checking, and gauging.

Currently available in AFMBA grade 5 – 10 – 24 – 48 – 100 – 200.

  • Aluminum

Aluminum balls are available in type 2017 T4 per ASTM B211. Hardness range is 54 – 72 Rockwell B.

The material is primarily used in lightweight applications or as a sealing ball.

Currently available in AFMBA grades 100 – 200 – 500 – 1000.

  • Brass

Material: ASTM B134; C26000 (CDA260); MS 19062; ASTM B16; C360000 (CDA360); AMS QQ-W-321; and MILW-6712. Hardness range is 75 – 87 Rockwell B.

Brass balls provide excellent resistance to corrosion by water and exhibit corrosion resistance in environments where fuel oil, gasoline, kerosene and alcohol are present. Brass balls demonstrate excellent electrical conductivity and are extremely popular in the electric industry and appliance industry.

Currently available in AFMBA grade 100 – 200 – 500

  • Copper

Copper balls are available in 99.9% pure OFHC (Oxygen Free High Thermal Conductivity) or to customer specifications (CDA102, CDA172). This material exhibits excellent electrical conductivity.

Currently available in AFBMA grades 200 – 500.

  • Nickel

Nickel balls are available in 99.0% pure Type 200 (UNS N02200, ASTM B160) or to customer specifications.

Currently available in AFBMA grades 100 – 200 – 500.

  • Titanium

Material can meet ASTM B348, B863, Grade 1, Grade 2 or other customer specifications.

Titanium is a low-density element (approximately 60% of the density of steel) that is nonmagnetic and offers good heat transfer properties. Titanium is an excellent choice for a variety of medical applications due to its general biological compatibility. The combination of high strength, stiffness, good toughness and low density make titanium an excellent choice for many aerospace applications. The excellent corrosion resistance and biocompatibility coupled with good strength make it very useful in chemical and petrochemical applications, marine environments and biomaterials applications.

Currently available in AFBMA grades 100 – 200 – 500.
